Support for the victims of the marathon bombings has been pouring out from all corners of the Boston community and beyond, and on May 6th, ten New England hardcore and metal bands will come together and invite you to mosh for a cause.
Because the only way to appropriately respond to a ton of tragic mayhem and destruction is with … more mayhem and destruction, right?
Quincy’s South Shore Music Hall will host this behemoth of a show, whose headliners include Converge, Dropdead, and Slapshot.
The rest of the lineup consists of Sexcrement, Doomriders, Wrecking Crew, New Lows, The Revilers, For the Worse, and Insult. All proceeds from the show will go to the One Fund, which aids the families affected by the tragedy. On top of that, the show aims to create a united outpouring of solidarity and compassion to people whose lives were affected by the tragedy, according to Converge vocalist Jacob Bannon in a Boston.com interview. The show is the result of a combined effort by Lykaion Cult Productions and Ammonia Booking, and several local businesses are helping to sponsor the event.
Forecast: It’s gonna be madness. The Facebook event page already lists 800+ attendees.
